HowToGet is a beta research project by POSTDATA, provided as is. We are testing whether statewide car-free routing is something people want.

Using it

• You do not need an account to use the map, search for places, plan routes, or read destination pages. An account adds personal features; it is not a gate.
• Routing results are estimates built from published timetables. Check with the operator before you travel, especially for services that must be booked ahead.
• This is not a booking service. We do not sell tickets and we are not affiliated with any transport operator.

Accounts

• Sign-in is by emailed link. There is no password, so there is nothing to leak or reset.
• Keep your email account secure: anyone who can read your email can sign in as you.
• You can delete your account at any time, which deletes your saved places, ratings, reviews and preferences.

Reviews and ratings you write

• Your review and your display name are public. Your email address is not, ever.
• You keep ownership of what you write. You give us permission to display it on this site for as long as you leave it there, and you can edit or delete it whenever you like.
• Write about the place and the journey. Do not post anything unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, deceptive, or anyone else's personal information; do not impersonate other people; do not post advertising.
• We may hide a review that breaks the above, or that is reported and turns out to. We are a small project and do not promise to review reports quickly.
• Reviews are opinions of the people who wrote them, not ours.

Advertising and promoted listings

• We may in future show paid promoted listings from tourism operators and similar businesses. Any such listing will be clearly labelled as sponsored.
• Paid placement will never change routing results, journey times, or which route we recommend. The point of this project is that it tells you the truth about what you can reach without a car, and that is not for sale.
• We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with advertisers. See the privacy page.

Your safety and your decisions

HowToGet gives general travel information, not instructions. You are responsible for deciding whether a route is safe and suitable for you, including walking sections, road crossings, weather, daylight and your own fitness and mobility needs. Always follow signs, local conditions and the directions of transport staff and authorities.

Data from others

Timetables, stops and accessibility information come from Transport for NSW and other third parties. We do not control them and cannot guarantee they are accurate, complete or current.

Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, POSTDATA AI Pty Ltd is not liable for any loss or damage, including missed connections, delays, extra costs or injury, arising from your use of or reliance on HowToGet. Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited to supplying the information again. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

What we do not promise

• The service may be unavailable, and routing results may be wrong or incomplete. Timetable data comes from Transport for NSW and is refreshed nightly; we do not control its accuracy.
• Features may change, be added, or be withdrawn during the research period.
